Supporting the WorldSkills Competition
Mori Seiki has been selected as an Official Supplier for the 41st WorldSkills Competition (WorldSkills London 2011), which will take place from October 5 to 8, 2011 in London, United Kingdom. Mori Seiki supports this biannual event for the third time in a row, following the 2007 competition in Shizuoka, Japan and the 2009 competition in Calgary, Canada.
For 2011, Mori Seiki provided 24 NLX2500MC/700 and NVX5100/40 machines from the X-class.
The WorldSkills competition, which started in 1950, is held once every two years with a view to improving technical skills, as well as promoting vocational training, international exchange and friendly relationships among participating countries. Over 10,000 young engineers have competed in the WorldSkills Competition throughout its long history.
Mori Seiki will continue to provide highly reliable machine tools and support young technicians through machine tools.

DMG / MORI SEIKI Scholarship Fund
In reaction to Great East Japan Earthquake, Mori Seiki accepted Gildemeister's proposal for human resource development to assist the recovery of Japanese manufacturing industry and the two companies have agreed with the Institute of National Colleges of Technology in Japan to establish the "DMG/MORI SEIKI Scholarship Fund" with the aim of providing support for education at national colleges of technology in the disaster-stricken region.
Cutting Dream Contest
Mori Seiki holds the "Cutting Dream Contest" every year for companies, universities, technical colleges, and research
institutions, with the aim of improving and exchanging technology and techniques throughout the machining industry.
We should note that this contest has been held not only in Japan but also in the
U.S.A. since 2006 and in Europe since 2007, where it has also won acclaim. Mori Seiki will continue to hold this contest to
assist the development of cutting technologies and improvement of technical skills around the world.
